Albury’s home to “hate (c)rap”

Ever heard of a self-important insignificance who calls himself “P Max”?

No I have to admit I was blissfully ignorant too, his real name is Peter Maxwell Slattery, he’s an Albury “local” (local in this instance meaning redneck tool) who fancies himself as a “representin” hip hop “arteeste”.

Nothing wrong with that I hear you protest, “good luck to him”.

Well I would have thought so too, that is until I discovered this on none other than good old you tube.

How pleased I was to see “old glory” the good old Aussie Battler flag, hung proudly against the cross of Odin.

A well known right wing racist hate symbol made popular by those great great guys in the Ku Klux Klan.(insert sarcasm font here)

I can only wish P-nut,  P-nis P-Max the best of luck.

Let’s hope he makes it all the way to the mean streets of Los Angeles or Downtown New York.

I’m sure Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G. Fitty Cent and all those other hard hittin’ negroes will see the funny side of white supremacist rap music.

Alternately Mr. “P-Max” Slattery might just find himself with a proverbial cap-in-his-ass.

Can’t help but feel it’d be no great loss to humanity if he did.

About alburywodongaonline

Hi I'm Jack Stone (a pseudonym), I'm a long-time Albury resident and I think it's a great place to live and work. I have a strong interest in local events and media and I started this site because I think a different perspective is often needed when reporting local news. I take a keen interest in local politics, as well as what's going on at the state and federal level, I'm also a supporter of social justice issues, the envirionment and the need for people to have a say in the events that effect their lives. I'm a fan of the Border Bandits and I'd love to see both teams take the flag this year, and next year, and maybe the one after that too.

A classic specimen of Pbrainmaximums is a danger to mankinds co-existence.

Well, where to start, looking for something totally unrelated online, my wife came across this piece on Peter Maxwell Slattery aka P-Max. Yeah I have heard of him, know quite a bit about him actually. Also My family and friends are “Local” Albury/Wodonga resident’s and I’m sure they wouldn’t appreciate being labelled a redneck either, a term you seem so readily and willing to use on someone and something you don’t understand, which in itself shows that your uneducated, limited and ignorant piece of written material is in itself a personal hate piece with no grounds.

-Did you know P-Max has 3 siblings 2 of which are Fijian / Australian born siblings (yes a Black sister and brother)????
FACT- P-Max grew up with and has many friends in the aboriginal and other Albury/Wodonga ethnic communities.
FACT-P-Max has an Irish and Scottish Heritage, and is also a CHRISTIAN yes CHRISTIAN!!!! And he is even Australian too?. How do I know these facts?, I will get to this later,
your reference to the Odin’s Cross is also a bias and only partially right opinion, ( did you actually read the link you posted???) here is a piece from it
“The symbol for the Celts of ancient Ireland and Scotland; also used as a Christian symbol”
I guess Peter should of thought of being branded a racist redneck before getting a tattoo and hanging a flag representing his bloodline heritage in a independently made film clip which insecure, uneducated and directionless writers would get offended by.
Also since when did the Klu Klux Clan have copyright of this Irish/Scottish Heritage originated symbol????, Inciting fear, ignorance and misinformation into your readers minds only amplifies your misguided intent.
“It is important to note that the Celtic Cross is used widely today in many mainstream and cultural contexts. No one should assume that a Celtic Cross, divorced from other trappings of extremism, automatically denotes use as a hate symbol.”

Ever heard presumption is the mother of all …..well I hope you get the picture for your sake and whoever reads your posts.

    The line

“Yes I am an ex skin head, when I was a dick head” the line from the song from which you automatically branded the artist a racist, some further information on the term and the many, many connotations it has, which not ALL or even most, but only a small minority have racist links

Here’s a piece from wiki on the term “skinhead” which P-Max mentioned in the song link you posted, Note: (basically he used to hang with different people which may or may not of been “gang orientated” but nothing to do with racism or race hate, But camaraderie amongst some unhappy youths looking to find their way in life. (Since when has it been a crime to be a youth that has lost his way, make some personal life learning mistakes, learnt from them and moved on?.)

skinhead is a member of a subculture that originated among working class youths in the United Kingdom in the 1960s, and then spread to other parts of the world. Named for their close-cropped or shaven heads, the first skinheads were greatly influenced by West Indian (specifically Jamaican) rude boys and British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle.[1] Originally, the skinhead subculture was primarily based on those elements, not politics or race.[2] Since then, however, attitudes toward race and politics have become factors in which some skinheads align themselves. The political spectrum within the skinhead scene ranges from the far right to the far left, although many skinheads are apolitical. Fashion-wise, skinheads range from a clean-cut 1960s mod-influenced style to less-strict punk- and hardcore-influenced styles.

There is the link, Plenty more on it, and yes if you even look further down the page you will a part about the small minority that are racially motivated, also I’m not going to post a link to what the Australian flag stands for, I think even Cathy Freeman has used it once or twice in the past with her Aboriginal heritage based flag, so what does that make her?J

    Peter Maxwell Slattery-The Musician
Songwriter, Drummer, Guitarist, Bassist, Producer, Percussionist, also known as P-Max the Confrontational, ORIGINAL, Comedian/Religious/Punk whatever you feel like labeling him rapper, that specialises in Character Parady BUT……..not in this song. Art is about making your own interpritation and having your own opinion of something, but forcing your personal view on others with false misinformation as is intended in this piece is flat out defamation, which could result in personal harm or danger to ones well-being even death ( your “cap in de ass” comment and “it wouldn’t be a loss to humanity” is nothing short of getting a sniper to do your dirty work.)

    Peter Maxwell Slattery-The Person

P-Max will be seeking legal advice whether this websites written piece warrants a defamation lawsuit/copyright infringement as well as the damages from the result of this publication and the other avenues that are available to him……

An educated, facts driven BROTHER of Peter

    Ben Slattery

  7. Phil says:

Ha! You shouldn’t run down people you don’t know buddy!! I know that everything you said about Pete is WRONG!! And your kkk krap has no significance in Australia nor does it’s symbolisms… I suppose you would see a budhist symbol and call them Nazis… ??? Anyhow if your such a tolerant anti discriminatory person why incite hatred against him?? Bit of an oxymoron ey?

  8. Save the Tote! says:

Just like to point out that, yes Odins Cross was used by the KKK, but it was also used by many other establishments throughout histroy, before AND after they did.

I’m just wondering if maybe it relates to a Norwegian heritage that he may have? Displayed on the left hand side also states left wing radicalists (Anti-racial establishments)

I say that because I haven’t heard any references to any racial matter at all in the lyrics that I have just then checked out?

If the contents of the songs stated anything otherwise, I’ll understand, but they just don’t!

Public defamating someone on the internet seems to me somewhat redneck behaviour would you not agree?

  9. ben meredith says:

i grew up with this guy just watched his rap on you tube have you imbread country hics got nothing else to do but slag off a young guy just having a bit of fun i dont see how he is doing any harm it made me chuckle why dont you write about something that matters to the world i think your more of the problem than the solution

  10. Aijay Jack says:

Can’t help but feel it’d be no great loss to humanity if he did. (insert sarcasm font here), all pun intended.

Wrong, it would be a great loss!! It would be a huge loss to me, and may “locals” that will stand by him, as he would with us. Who are you to judge? Personally, I have know Peter Maxwell Slattery for more than 15 years, and I must say he is not self-important insignificance nor racist as you claim.

I am concerned that you are so shallow to then judge and label Pete a redneck, or to think that for a moment that you have the right to label his music as “white supremacist rap music”.

To be honest, I think you have only done yourself harm……. have you considered reading your own link you posted in regards to the Cross of Odin?

I am proud to see P-MAX create music, artistically and have an emotion and creative outlet, that hurts no body. Unlike you and your ” self-important insignificance” blog that is filled with negative and inaccurate insults on a person.

I would love to see your “blissfully ignorant [ignorance]” on an issue that actually had an effect and concern on Albury Wodonga.

    An offended reader.

  11. Nat says:

It must be easy for you to pay someone out for showing some artistic endeavour while hiding behind anonymity. I am a long time local too and am disheartened to find this blog had 4 entries last year and you deemed this article good enough to include in those 4 entries, which to me reduces the integrity of this site. Was it a slow year or do you have a personal grudge against this individual? Surely there was something of intelligence or local importance that you could have covered instead. If you try to quash creative expression in Albury/Wodonga according to what you find “acceptable” you will quickly find that it will become a very boring place. Good on him for having a go. Your sensationalism and lack of facts in the article neatly covers up the fact that you probably don’t actually KNOW this person or what they are about and regardless of this fact you still deem it suitable to single Peter out and make a mockery of him. Shame on you.

  12. ray-ray says:

Hay shut up gauss pmax is wun of teh best rapper evar ur jus mad cos you can rap and he is awesome rapped and u can’t rap

  13. kevin says:

Not surprised by this!! I’m waiting for the declaration that will officially recognise Australia as the new 51st state of America. We listen to their mindless music, watch their tv shows which bear no resembalnace to reality and people now use thier vocabulary. We might as well replace the union jack in our flag with the stars and stripes. For we can thank our weak-willed, pathetic politicians who for generatons have allowed us to be overun by the American culture; somone please tell me what my Pa went to fight the Japs for?? Maybe we would have been better off under them – it’s just a thought.
