It seems the Border Mail has walked away from the controversial story about neglect and abuse issues at the “Ozy Wildlife sanctuary” in Ettamogah.
Some of you may recall I posted a story about my troubling observations there, and the outcome which occured, as well as the conflict of interests of having a member of council act as RSPCA veterinary officer.
A short time ago I provided my details for publication in the Border Mail on the understanding that the story would be published, apparently the Border Mail has opted for what is easy over what is right and left the story to die.
If there’s any consolation to be gleaned from this, it’s that I’ve done as much as I possibly can to intervene personally and alert the relevant authorities (however reluctant they might be to act for political reasons).
This will, I suspect come as cold comfort when the next atrocious act of animal cruelty takes place at the sanctuary.
